Let No Tear Thine Eye-Lids Dim;
Listing Details
Let no tear thine eye-lids dim;
O'er this pale house of clay.
But think I rest at peace with him
Who wipes all tears away
O'er this pale house of clay.
But think I rest at peace with him
Who wipes all tears away

This is from a hymn, (which I have only found in an older book, called 'A Visit to the Banks of Jordan; and is from the second verse:
Let no tear thine eye-lids dim;
O'er this pale house of clay.
But think I rest at peace with him
Who wipes all tears away
Let no tear thine eye-lids dim;
O'er this pale house of clay.
But think I rest at peace with him
Who wipes all tears away
The full Hymn
When these dark hours of earthly love
And earthly pangs are o'er.
These lips shall bless, these hands shall move,
These eyes shall look no more;
Oh! Let no tear thine eye-lids dim;
O'er this pale house of clay.
But think I rest at peace with him
Who wipes all tears away
These lips, transformed, shall sound the words,
Hosannah to the Lamb;
These hands transfigured, sweep the chords
That praise the great I AM
These hollow eyes but seem to sleep,
for, oh! to them is given
An enless watch of bliss to keep
For they have waked in Heaven!
When these dark hours of earthly love
And earthly pangs are o'er.
These lips shall bless, these hands shall move,
These eyes shall look no more;
Oh! Let no tear thine eye-lids dim;
O'er this pale house of clay.
But think I rest at peace with him
Who wipes all tears away
These lips, transformed, shall sound the words,
Hosannah to the Lamb;
These hands transfigured, sweep the chords
That praise the great I AM
These hollow eyes but seem to sleep,
for, oh! to them is given
An enless watch of bliss to keep
For they have waked in Heaven!
